M/V ORTELIUS

Originally built in Poland in 1989, the Ortelius served as a special purpose vessel for the Russian Academy of Science. The vessel features the highest ice-class notation and is suitable for navigating solid sea ice and loose pack ice.

The vessel has a number of open-deck spaces and two restaurants that are able to accommodate all guests at the same time. All 53 cabins have been refurbished and provide private facilities. There is a bar and a lecture room, with most voyages designed to give guests as much time on shore as possible.
